Got stuck on the outskirts of a Tornado in my area on my way home last night. The result was getting pelted with hail while driving on the interstate.

Thankfully I keep full coverage on my vehicles:

Kinja'd!!!

Both fenders, hood, roof, hatch, passe nger door, slider all have some g narly  dings in them.

Certainly not to belittle your cars, but would that total them out?  While I know you’ve put a lot in to both the Voyager and the Acclaim, what does book value say?  Or, is this something that a PDR guy could do?

I know if someone were to key a couple of my cars it would total them out.

Those are just speed dents. Like a golf ball

Seriously though, hail is bad news. Glad you have coverage!

We had a similar claim on our 95 Sport Wagon the year I traded it (so last year?), they valued that van at $3500, so the hail claim was well below value.

This one has 80k less miles so I would think it would be higher, but idk.

Honestly, I keep full coverage on them for sake of at least I get something to find another vehicle with in the event one does get totaled. The $10/month it costs me is well worth it.

In this case I’ll just take the money and set it aside for when I refinish the body.

My PT Cruiser that I paid 3k for got hit by a nasty hail storm. It did $17 00 in damage. Insurance cut me a $1200 check and I went on my merry way. I think since there’s not much of a chance of it “ finding more issues” with PDR, insurance is more willing to spend more.

it will likely be “totalled” but you can probably find a PDR guy that will do it for what they give you if you don’t mind paying them in cash.

Guessing not.

Our other one was still valued at over $3k by insurance last year and it had 80k more miles.

Either way, I’m likely going to see if it’s enough to just get the whole van repainted as I am planning on doing that anyway.

A good PDR guy can knock those little guys out. You're lucky it is light hail damage.
